Wallace Swayze was elected to Cedar Hill City Council, Place 3 in 2010. He serves on the city council's audit and ethics committees and is a council liaison for the Windsor Park Public Improvement District.
As a council member, Wallace is committed to working towards sustainable development and quality of life for future growth in Cedar Hill. His priorities include enhancing entertainment and retail options, increasing jobs and tourism, ensuring quality in new residential development, and reinvigorating the parks and trail system. Wallace looks forward to the implementation of the projects approved in the 2017 bond program that will help advance these priorities.
Wallace is passionate about citizen engagement. He looks for opportunities to develop leaders on the City's boards and commissions and empower citizens to volunteer in Cedar Hill. Wallace believes that Cedar Hill is unique because of the ability of its residents to look past themselves as individuals and see the future of the city. He is proud that every leader in Cedar Hill is a volunteer because they love their city and their neighbors.
Prior to his service on city council, Wallace was a member of the 2008 Comprehensive Plan Committee and served as a Planning and Zoning Commissioner. Before moving to Cedar Hill, Wallace was an Alderman for the City of Ferris.
Wallace holds a Master of Business Administration in Information Systems and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Texas at Arlington. He has held a variety of leadership positions in Hewlett Packard, once the largest technology company in the world, for over 30 years.
Wallace and his wife, Lisa, are actively involved in Trinity Church in Cedar Hill, where Lisa is a staff pastor. He and Lisa have two children and enjoy living in Cedar Hill's natural beauty with their two energetic dogs.
