The Tourism Advisory Board is responsible for appraising the city’s tourism initiatives, supporting Cedar Hill's brand, and making recommendations to the City Council of activities, programs and sponsorship opportunities to increase visitations and provide captivating visitor experiences.
The board consists of seven (7) voting members, three (3) of which shall represent tourism-specific stakeholders of Cedar Hill State Park, Dogwood Canyon Audubon Center and the Cedar Hill Chamber of Commerce. The remaining four (4) members shall be appointed from the community. The number of ex officio members will be determined by the City Council as deemed appropriate.
Each voting member of the Board shall be appointed to serve a term of two (2) years, provided, however that three (3) member stakeholder representatives shall be appointed to serve a term of two (2) years and four (4) community representative members shall be appointed to an initial term of one (1) year. In the event any community representative member of the Board resigns or terminates service for any cause, the City Council may appoint a qualified successor for the unexpired term.
Members appointed will serve in an advisory capacity only and shall receive no compensation for their services.
