Jami McCain was elected to the Cedar Hill City Council, Place 1 in 2013 and has been active in service to the Cedar Hill community for many years. Jami is the third woman to serve on the city council in the City's history.
She and her husband, Adam, are pastors of Church on the Hill, where she focuses on community relations, event planning, and campus development. Jami believes that a church should serve the community in all aspects of life and encourages members to join in social and service events and to do all they can to make their city a better place. Jami also travels internationally as a speaker, teaching churches how to love and serve their communities.
As a city council member, Jami is an advocate for citizen engagement and thriving neighborhoods. She lead the creation of Good Samaritan and Servant Leadership awards to recognize citizens for their contributions and worked with city staff to update the neighborhood matching grant. As a mom of three, Jami is active in Cedar Hill schools and is dedicated to building strong connections between the City and school district.
Prior to her service on city council, Jami served on several City boards, including Main Street Development and Preservation Board, City Center Planning Committee, Finance Committee, Cedar Hill Education Foundation, and Best Southwest Partnership Board. She has helped organize and execute community events, such as the Creative Arts Festival, Country Day on the Hill, and National Day of Prayer. Jami is a graduate of Leadership North Texas, a graduate-level leadership program supporting leaders to learn best practices in regional stewardship and participate in the development of strategies to address challenges and opportunities for North Texas.
Jami lives with her family in historic downtown Cedar Hill and enjoys restoring and remodeling their 1930's bungalow, planting flowers in her yard, and spending time with her family and their Maine Coon cats.
